If your email isn’t working properly, don’t worry - most issues are quick to fix.
Use the checks below to get things back up and running.
Step 1: Check Your Login Details
The most common issue is incorrect login details.
Make sure:
- Your email address is entered correctly
- Your password is correct
If needed, try logging in via webmail to confirm:
???? https://yourdomain.co.uk/webmail
Step 2: Check Your Device Settings
If you’re using an app like Outlook or your phone:
- Make sure IMAP is selected (not POP3)
- Double-check your server settings
Correct settings:
- Incoming server → mail.yourdomain.co.uk
- IMAP port → 993
- Outgoing server → mail.yourdomain.co.uk
- SMTP port → 465
- Encryption → SSL/TLS enabled
Step 3: Check Your Internet Connection
Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
Try loading a website to confirm.
Step 4: Has Your Domain Fully Connected?
If your email was recently set up:
- Your domain may still be updating
- This can take a few hours (up to 24 hours in some cases)
Step 5: Check If You Can Send or Receive
Understanding the issue helps narrow it down:
- Can’t receive emails? → Check IMAP settings
- Can’t send emails? → Check SMTP settings
- Neither working? → Check login details or domain connection
Step 6: Restart Your Email App
Sometimes a simple restart can fix syncing issues.
- Close the app completely
- Reopen it and try again
Step 7: Try Removing and Re-Adding the Account
If nothing else works:
- Remove your email account from your device
- Add it again using the correct settings
